The season 2019-2020 was a challenging test for PAOK and the whole world too because of the pandemic. That caused the pause of the League and all the competitions as well. The summer of 2020 was the time that everything changed while Thanasis Hatzopoulos took over the team’s reins in an extremely difficult period. Despite of the bad beginning in the season 2020-21, our team began an upturning path while coach Lykogiannis was in the technical leadership from December 2020. After an one year absence, the comeback in European competitions was the confirmation of the restart of PAOK. The participation in a European final once again after 29 years created great expectations. PAOK faced Bilbao in the two-legged FIBA Europe Cup final in April 2025 and, despite not managing to lift the trophy, it once again became a point of reference both within and beyond the black-and-white family.
