
PAOK BC announces a one-year deal with Zisis Sarikopoulos for the upcoming 2019/20 season.
Sarikopoulos was born on March 31, 1990 in Athens, measures 213 cm, and plays the center position.
He began playing basketball at the Olympiacos Academies and in 2007 he moved to the US to originally play for Alabama Birmingham and then for Ohio State. He graduated in 2010 and upon returning to Greece, he joined Panionios for two seasons (2010-2012).
He moved to Aris next season (2012/13), and then he joined AEK (2014-16), Prometheus Patras (2016-17), returning to Panionios for the 2017-18 season and moving to Belorussia for Minsk in the 2018-19 season.
In a total of 40 games (for the Belorussian League, the VTB, the BCL qualification rounds and FIBA Europe Cup), Sarikopoulos averaged 10.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists, with 64.8% in twos and 58.2% in free throws. He won the Belorussian League title in 2019.
Zisis Sarikopoulos has been a member of all age categories National teams. He has won the European Championship twice with the U18 in 2008 and the U20 in 2009. He also won 2nd place and the silver medal in the U18 European Championship in 2007, the World Championship of 2009 for the U19 teams and the U20 Eurobasket in 2010. He's also an international with the National Men's team.
