April, the month of PAOK’s anniversary, begins with a huge game at the PAOK Sports Arena. PAOK hosts UCAM Murcia this Wednesday (April 1, 19:15) in the first semifinal of the FIBA Europe Cup and aims to take the first step towards qualifying for the finals of the competition.
Our team’s task will be difficult, given that the Spanish side is enjoying an excellent run, both in the ACB and the FIBA Europe Cup. Just last Saturday, they defeated the European title holders Surne Bilbao Basket with impressive ease, as reflected in the score (100–81), and they currently sit in 3rd place in the standings, ahead of two EuroLeague teams such as Baskonia and Barcelona.
In their European campaign, Murcia holds a 13–1 record in the FIBA Europe Cup, with their only loss coming last October against Bosna in Sarajevo.
PAOK’s preparation has focused on all the key elements that define the Spanish team’s style of play, under the guidance of Pantelis Boutskos and his staff, as well as under the watchful eye of Andrea Trinchieri, who is once again in Thessaloniki and will attend Wednesday’s big game.
Today’s schedule for PAOK began with video analysis of the opponent and continued with practice, where emphasis was placed on tactics.
PAOK’s program continues with a training session at the PAOK Sports Arena on Tuesday noon.
Later that same day, UCAM Murcia’s first training session at the PAOK Sports Arena is scheduled to take place.
