Andrea Trinchieri signed with PAOK until 2029!

PAOK BC announces the agreement with Andrea Trinchieri, who will take over as head coach of our team starting from the 2026–2027 season and for the following three years.
The experienced Italian coach, with a long-standing presence and significant achievements at the highest level, including competitions such as the EuroLeague, will assume an active role in the strategic planning of the club’s next chapter as of now.
During the transitional period, he will serve as a consultant, actively contributing to the organization and structure of the basketball department, laying the foundations for an ambitious and modern project that will be ready to meet the major challenges ahead in Greece and across Europe.
The next era of PAOK basketball is being designed with seriousness, planning, and a clear vision. With unity, hard work, and strategic consistency, we are building the major project of the coming years.
The Italian coach is expected to arrive in Thessaloniki on Wednesday (March 4).


The distinguished career of Andrea Trinchieri
Andrea Trinchieri was born on August 6, 1968, in Milan. He began his coaching career at the age of 20 as a member of the coaching staff of Olimpia Milano, where he worked for six years (1998–2004).
He then took over as head coach of Vanoli Cremona, remaining on the bench for three years (2004–07). After a brief spell with Juvecaserta (2007), he joined Veroli for the 2008–09 season, where he achieved the first major success of his career. He won the Italian A2 Cup and was named Italian A2 Coach of the Year, earning promotion to coach for the first time in the Legabasket.
He coached the historic club Cantu for four years (2009–13). During that period, he won the Italian Super Cup (2012), was named Italian Coach of the Year twice (2010, 2011), and made his first EuroLeague appearances as a head coach.
In 2014, he was named EuroCup Coach of the Year with Unics, leading the club to the Russian Cup title (2014).
Over the next four years (2014–18), he coached Brose Bamberg, winning three German League championships (2015–17), one German Cup (2017), and one German Super Cup (2015).
He left Bamberg in February 2018, and in November of the same year he took over Partizan, winning two Serbian Cups (2019, 2020) and one Adriatic League Super Cup (2019).
This was followed by three seasons (2020–23) with Bayern Munich, where he won the German Cup twice (2021, 2023).
On December 30, 2023, he was appointed head coach of Zalgiris. With the Kaunas-based club, he won two Lithuanian Cups (2024, 2025) and the Lithuanian League championship in 2025.
He has coached 262 EuroLeague games with Cantu, Bamberg, Bayern, and Zalgiris.
His first direct involvement with Greek basketball came in 2013, when he was appointed head coach of the Greek Men’s National Team, a position he held for one year.
