Michail Samaras was born in Thessaloniki in January 1991 and is a graduate of the Medical School of Comenius University in Bratislava.
He specialized in Trauma and Orthopaedics at the Leicester Royal Infirmary in the United Kingdom and at the “Agios Pavlos” General Hospital of Thessaloniki. He also completed further specialization in Elective Orthopaedic Surgery at Leicester General Hospital. In parallel, he completed postgraduate studies in Clinical Anatomy at Democritus University of Thrace and obtained his specialty title in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2024.
Dr. Samaras collaborates with the Interbalkan Medical Center of Thessaloniki and has well-documented experience in sports medicine, having served as Head Doctor of PAOK’s men’s volleyball and futsal teams.
His appointment as Head of the Medical Staff is part of PAOK BC’s strategic plan to provide high-level medical care and continues the long-standing medical contribution of the Samaras family to the club, as his father, the late Kostas Samaras, served for many years as PAOK’s team doctor, offering his services to the basketball team for more than two decades
