PAOK BC announces that Michalis Giannakidis, who had played for PAOK in the past, is taking over the position of Team Manager.
Michalis Giannakis was born in Thessaloniki on April 6, 1988. He began his career from the team of the Mandoulides Schools, played for MENT and joined the PAOK family for the first time in the summer of 2008. He was met with bad luck at the beginning of his collaboration with the team, since a serious injury did not allow him to play during the 2008-09 season, however, he came back, played with the black and white jersey through 2012, while he had been a member of the team that won 3rd place of the 2010-11 Greek League. He has also played for Ikaros Kallitheas, Trikala, Koroivos Amaliadas, Kavala and Iraklis, while last season he played for Agrinio.
Michalis Giannakidis has won the Greek Schools Championship twice playing for Mandoulides (2005, 2006).
He had also won second place (with Mandoulides) in the World Schools Championship of 2005 that took place in Poland and won two Cadet Greek Championships, again with Mandoulides Schools, in Xylokastro (2003) and Thessaloniki (2004). He made the National Greek cadet, junior and young men selections, while winning the World Championship with the National Army team in 2009, in the tournament held in Lithuania.
He’s a graduate of the Education Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds a C’ grade basketball coach’s license.
