Following a great performance, PAOK won its 2nd consecutive game for the 4th group of the Basketball Champions League, this time besting Zaragoza 93-78 for the 6th day of the competition.
The hosts made an excellent start in the game and with Antwaine Wiggins and Amanze Egekeze leading the offense, they got to lead 30-20 at the end of the first quarter.
Zaragoza was better in the second quarter and closed in the score, even getting ahead a little before the end (43-44). However, JeQuan Lewis scored at the buzzer and PAOK went to the locker rooms for the break leading 45-44.
PAOK was exceptional in the third quarter, finding rhythm in the offense and with an amazing performance by Adam Smith! The Thessaloniki team closed the third quarter with a +12 lead (73-61), following a three by Aaron Best in the last offensive play of the quarter.
The game continued the same way for PAOK in the fourth quarter as well. The ‘black & white’ got a 15 points lead (80-65) at 35’. Zaragoz reacted closing in at 6 (80-74) at 38’, but PAOK found score with a huge bucket by Adam Smith and a dunk by Antwaine Wiggins, finally winning the game 93-78.
