The Retro Jersey for PAOK’s 100th Anniversary

PAOK BC proudly presents the commemorative retro jersey celebrating the club’s 100th anniversary — a uniform filled with historical and emotional symbolism, connecting the past with the present while honoring the moments that shaped PAOK’s identity.
This particular jersey draws its inspiration from a design worn by the basketball team in the early 1970s, during an era when basketball had not yet reached the popularity and momentum it would later gain among PAOK supporters.
That generation laid the foundations with purity, passion, self-sacrifice, and unconditional love for the club.
Although that period was not associated with titles or major achievements, it remains an extremely important chapter in the club’s history. These were the moments that shaped characters, created bonds, and kept the flame of PAOK alive, paving the way for everything that followed in the decades to come.
Designed with a completely minimalist approach, the jersey — produced at the Macron manufacturing facility in Bologna, Italy — is based on PAOK’s timeless black-and-white colors and features two thin vertical stripes on the left and right sides, elements inspired by the aesthetics of that era. A special highlight is the retro club logo, further enhancing the historical character of the design.
At the same time, the jersey includes a subtle reference to the dates 4/10/1999 and 27/1/2026 — two dates forever linked to tragic road accidents and the loss of PAOK supporters. It is a symbolic gesture of remembrance and respect, because the club’s history has always been written together with its people.
The commemorative retro jersey is dedicated not only to the great moments, but also to those that kept PAOK standing strong, authentic, and unique throughout the years. It will be worn for the first time in PAOK’s playoff games against Panathinaikos AKTOR in the Stoiximan GBL playoffs.
Participating in the jersey presentation, through photos and videos, was Ben Moore, who also became the first player to renew his contract with PAOK for the next two years. His presence carries even greater symbolism through the number “26” that he has chosen — a number that refers both to the club’s founding year (1926) and to the year PAOK celebrates 100 years of history, in 2026.
The photoshoot and filming of the promotional video for the commemorative retro jersey took place in the traditional settlement of Arnaia in Halkidiki. Special thanks to the traditional café "Lanara" for their warm hospitality.
