PAOK Game notes
Game 1
@ iraklis 24/10/20
.... Thessa-what???? That was the response I got when I handed my boarding pass to the man at the airport counter to check my bags. With a laugh and big smile (under my mask of course?) I went on to explain I was going to play for one of the most storied franchises in Greece, PAOK! It hit me then that this season was going to be something like I’ve never experienced before playing basketball. For example, Covid-19. From wearing a mask everywhere I went, to carrying hand sanitizer with me like it was my phone and to taking Covid tests once a week ?. No one had ever thought something like this could happen. But, none of this has taken away from what I love most and that is the game of basketball! Pandemic or not, getting on the court with my teammates and coaches each day is what makes it all worth it, no matter how much I hate wearing a mask ?
As we prepared this week for Iraklis it will be a tough first/derby game. Iraklis is skilled on all positions on the court and execute their gameplays well, as we have seen in scouting. We have to play hard on both ends of the floor for a full 40 minutes and be mentally tough to be able to come out and win this derby game on the road. The fans will be missed dearly in such an intense rivalry game, no doubt, but the competition will still be heated on the court! #PAOK4ever
