PAOK BC announces that Kostas Mexas will be our team’s coach for the 2020-21 season. The 44-year old coach will have the opportunity to built the new team of PAOK from scratch, since the beginning of his first collaboration with our team, was interrupted due to the pandemic and COVID-19.

Kostas Mexas was born in Corfu on October 25, 1976. He got involved with coaching at a very young age, taking over the team of Chortiatis at the age of 21 (1997-2003). He worked with the Ampelokipe team then (2003-04), the womens’ teams of Mega Alexandros (2004-05) and Kastoria (2005-06), with MENT (2006-08), Irakllis (2008-11), while he had been a member of the technical staff of KAOD for four years (2001-15) and was promoted to head coach during the 2014-15 season. He also worked with Apollon Patras (2015-17) and Trikala (2015-17), while during the 2018-19 season was the Iraklis coach, leading the team to the A1 category.  

Kostas Mexas took over PAOK’s bench on February 7, 2020 but only had the chance to coach the team in two League games (against Ifaistos Lemnos on the road and at home against Peristeri), before the League was abruptly interrupted.
