PAOK head coach Pantelis Boutskos commented on the game against Panathinaikos AKTOR, stating:
"Congratulations to Panathinaikos. They have set the bar very high. Congratulations as well to our players. After an exceptionally long period without competition, we showed energy and discipline, and we played the game the right way. We finished with 29 assists, and that says a lot about the character of this team. We have demonstrated the toughness and resilience of our players. We are proud of what we put on the court.
There was a turning point in the third quarter. The crowd became a factor, our opponents showed their quality, and they managed to secure the win. We made a tremendous effort. In Thessaloniki, for the second game, we want to play with the same energy and intensity, without fear, and remain true to ourselves. We want to play a highly competitive game in front of our fans. If we deserve it, we want to bring the series back here for a third game."
Commenting on PAOK's competitiveness and what it indicates about the club's future, Boutskos added:
"We are proud to be laying the groundwork for a new era. An organized effort is underway with Coach Andrea Trinchieri and our new General Manager, Giorgos Tsiaras. Targeted initiatives are being implemented to establish high-level structures and routines throughout the organization. There is certainly a sense of optimism within the PAOK family regarding the future."
