PAOK mateco didn’t manage to lock a victory against Promitheas and lost (90-69) the game in Patra for the 17th round of Basket League. It was a game that took place into difficult circumstances due to the terrible train crush tragedy that happened.
Fotis Takianos made his debut as a head coach and helped PAOK mateco to stay focused for 25 minutes in the game, but sadly our team couldn’t follow the opponent’s rhythm and lost the game.
In the first quarter, Promitheas started off better and led early with 18-12 while they also found a way to extend their lead to a double difference (26-15) in the beginning of the second quarter. Franke was the main contributor who scored 14 points through the first half and reduced the difference to 41-39, so with this way PAOK mateco rekindled the hopes for a win.
Promitheas found another gear in the second halftime and extended its lead to a double difference again (56-45 26’) and PAOK mateco reduced to 56-49 with the three-pointer Franke, although it was the last time that our team managed to keep the difference on a low pace. In the end of the third period, the lead soared to 66-51 and the opponent increased its advantage with 25 points (80-55) so they outscored our team without the image of the game getting better.
