PAOK mateco- Kolossos H Hotels: 89-82

PAOK mateco bounced back in the victories, while led the score with 89-82 against Kolossos H Hotels in a game that took place at PAOK Sports Arena for the 16th round of Basket League. Besides the win, our team managed to cover the 4-point difference existing from the away game, which was a loss in Rhodes for the first round. It means that PAOK mateco has an advantage in case of a draw in ranking.

In the start, the game was balanced but PAOK mateco took the total control with the 3-pointers: Hands, Riley, Polley which they successfully had 3/3 and the first quarter ended with a thirteen points difference (29-16).

Polley was unstoppable ( 14 p. with 4/4 3 p. shot) and led our team in the second quarter, while 25 points difference were created (44-19 15’30’’). The visitors reacted with a consecutive 0-11 so they immediately reduced the difference at 14 (44-30 17’30’’). However, that was temporary because PAOK mateco went ahead in the score (52-33) just before halftime.

Yannick Franke’s continuous three-pointers boosted our team’s lead to 23 points difference (62-39 at 23’). In the end of the third quarter, the hosts have had reduced by 15 (67-52) and tried to step up in the game. Young buried a couple of 3-pointers and helped his team to stay alive, while our team’s performance remained stable throughout some constant disruptions from the referees. Kolossos reduced 80-74 at 37’30’’ and the difference went back to 10 (84-74) but Young didn’t let that grow because of his successful 4points. The score was 85-80 just some minutes before the end but the host’s try was officialy over because PAOK mateco secured the win and the difference by being calm.
